Children and Family 50 years fly fishing

Nether Wallop Mill, beside the burbling Wallop Brook and a gin clear lake that absolutely teems with trout, is a truly wonderful place to start fly fishing.

You will be taught by one of our patient and helpful instructors, with exclusive use of The Mill and the instructor. We break up the day to make it interesting; casting tuition, tackle tips, pond dipping, fly tying and of course plenty of fish catching! It is not a rigid schedule so we adapt along the way. Our simple aim is to make it fun, informative and fire the enthusiasm for many future fishing trips in the years to come.

The facilities are second to none with a beautiful thatched oak fishing cabin on the water’s edge with a kitchen, lounge with a log burner, dining veranda, WC and outside BBQ area. Non fishing family members are welcome to attend the day.

We don’t have a strict minimum age as such but as general rule I have found that children from around eight years and upwards get the best from these days. Nether Wallop Mill is open April to October on week days, weekends and Bank Holidays.
