MY 5 TOP TIPS FOR CHOOSING
THE BEST FISHING
When I say choosing the best fishing you might be relieved to hear that
does not necessarily mean the most expensive! If you would like to complete
the brief form below I will send you three recommendations.
1) Be clear on the type of fishing you prefer
If you like a small, wild stream gravitate towards that. If you like wading,
don’t compromise with an all bank fishing beat. Unless you are in
the mood to experiment, stick to what you like or be clear about your
expectations.
2) Ask about the location
Some people don’t mind the roar of a motorway or being under flight
path, but if tranquillity or some other factor (near a pub!) is important
to you, say so.
3) Do you like other anglers?
I’m fairly gregarious and enjoy sharing my fishing, but there are
days when I want total solitude. Some fishing beats are shared and on
others you will be in splendid isolation. Make sure you get the one you
prefer.
4) Watch out for the local rules
You might want to take your dog along or perhaps you like a couple of
fish for the pot. Most fisheries have local rules, so if something is
important to your enjoyment of the day check it is okay.
5) Should you be swayed by the price?
The estate agent mantra of location, location, location applies to fishing
as much as houses but within that there are many variables. So once you
have been through questions 1-4 use price as the final factor.
