Chalk stream FishingRiver PiddleThe Piddle (a delightful name for schoolboys with a piscatorial bent) is one of the most natural of all the chalkstreams. Weaving it’s way through the beautiful and secluded parts of Dorset, the Piddle is not stocked and is managed with the lightest of hands. It rises at Alton Pancras north of Dorchester and heads for Puddletown where it turns east and for 16 miles flows towards the sea at Poole Harbour, where it enters the English Channel, just half a mile north of the Frome. For anyone searching for true wild trout fishing, this has be one of the rivers to head for. BERE REGIS
